These are of examples of applications that I have contributed to. My role is to produce the ‘screenbuddy’ element to these applications.

For the production of screenbuddies my role includes:

  • Directing the talent whilst we film them against a chroma-key background
  • Team management, as necessary
  • Editing and removing the background
  • Sequencing the animations in flash (using the character engine that I have developed)
  • Delivering them as executable programs with the help of a third party flash wrapping tool.

16 adidas sponsored football stars such as David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Gary Neville, Djebril Cisse were filmed against a chroma-key background and transformed into desktop screenbuddies.

The 3D character from the console game was converted into a screenbuddy. Even though this is one of the most complexly animated characters used within a console game, I still needed to create some animations of my own using Maya.

3D Studio Max characters were exported and another 2 screenbuddies were born! They have ragdoll limbs and gravity and collision detection allows you to throw them around your desktop.

For the TV show Celebrity Love Island i was asked to produce a 3D "News Crab". Some pretty cool animations were created and I converted the 3D Studio Max animations into a crab screenbuddy that provided you with the latest news and gossip.
